True Jackson, VP/The Troop Review 12/12
About 2 hours before True Jackson started I realized I had not watched any of my Christmas movies yet this year, so I popped in Miracle on 34th Street. Coincidentally, the True Jackson episode featured the Macy Parade. And a game show with a dunce cap? I can tell you where they got that idea: Win Ben Stein's Money.
Well I have a confession to make. Before watching True Jackson I was mentally preparing to write a bad review of it but I can't. It was great. I know I have no logical reason to dislike the show. Let's just say I don't hate it but I could do without it if they would use the extra time for something better like the mermaids. I no you can't run a show that does not get good ratings, but discontinuing that show is a painful loss to me.
As for The Troop, I stand by what I said before. That show is garbage. It is unoriginal. It is a Ghostbusters wannabe. I do not even see how the title of the shoe fits. But I noticed an interesting connection. The show is in the same time slot that the mermaids use to be in. The sister on the troop is named Phoebe and Phoebe Tonkin in one of the mermaids. Did I mention I missed the mermaids? How about dumping THIS show for the mermaids.
At least they could dump True Jackson and the Troop for Victorious and Big Time Rush, even if Erin Sanders ends up being my only reason I care for the latter show.

iQuit iCarly review
Well this movie did just what it needed to do: top iFight Shelby Marx. And now there is yet another movie coming up (iSaved Your Life). As for the debate of who Freddie will end up with, I still think it will be Carly and there is no way the writers can get out of it at this point. I noticed more Zoey 101 connections such as the mention of Joe Catania's name and another connection that has slipped my my mind.
With the way plots are intensifying and normalcy ending (i.e. Freddie's mother promising to no longer be overprotective) I have a sneaky suspicion that this show has entered its final stages and they are now winding it down to make room for Victorious and Big Time Rush. Not to mention The Troop, which in my opinion has no business even being on the air. And I do not know where True Jackson, VP is headed but I would love to see it out of the way.
Not to Criticize iCarly at all (for it is unarguably an awesome show), I have always thought of it as the entertainment to tied me over until Victoria's show starts. I have said it once and I will say it again that Zoey 101 is my favorite show ever and my only regret is not discovering it until it was all reruns. I am rooting for my champion Victoria Justice to be the one to continue the legacy of Zoey 101 and carry Nickelodeon's torch.

iCarly/Big Time Rush Review 11/28
iCarly was okay but not good by iCarly standards. iQuit iCarly should be episode. I wonder if Nevel will have a hand in stirring up the feud between Carly and Sam.
Big Time Rush was good but I saw Erin Sanders nowhere. But It should be a good show.

Notice: No more Teen Nick reviews
To save money in these tight times we got a cheaper cable package that includes Nickelodeon but no Teen Nick. So no more Dregrassi reviews. However, I will still watch and review iCarly and True Jackson as well as Big time Rush and Victorious once they start.

Degrassi/Flirting with Fame Review 9/21
Well Flirting with Fame was excellent. True Jackson,VP is a great show even though I do not like it and I apologise for all the negative things I have said about it in the past.
Degrassi was also great. Now there was a part where it was suggested that a character could be prosecuted for hate speech. Yes it is a crime in Cananda to publicly attack homosexuality, even for pastors behind pulpits. There is a movement for the same in the U.S. Now I am not homophobic but that is a violation of religious rights and free speech. So let me say some words. When there is free speech there will be people offended and there are ways to deal with being offended besides silencing speech you do not like. I had a teacher in high school who posted in his classroom a quote from a Nazi victim:
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak up because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak up because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the trae unionists, and I did not speak up because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Catholics, and I did not speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was nobdy left to speak up.
Do not just stand up for your rights, but stand up for others. Stand up for what is right even if you are standing alone!

Degrassi/iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 11/14
Degrassi is a show you either love or you hate and this weeks episode was good.
Icarly was awesome. I just knew it was that kid who took the remotes. And the actor plating Marta did great at being a two face. I think the upcoming movie "iquit iCarly" will revitalize a show that is not really suffering, but "iFight Shelby Marx" did not live up to its hype aafter months.
True Jackson, VP was a nice bait and switch. They promote it as having Justin Beber and they promoted him well. Then we got the Carebears on Fire.
It was nice to see Big Time Rush promoted but when will they start promoting Victorious?
All in all, nicw relief from a weekend of hard work.

Degrassi Season Premeir review
Sorry I am late in posting this but I had to tape Degrassi because I was working. Then I had computer issues which further delayed this posting.
Well this show is growing on me. This season was not bad at all. Every plot was good. And while Miriam and Casey did not make an appearance, I am glad they are sticking around this season, at least on a limited basis. But the ones who did appear did an excellent job holding fort.

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review/The Troop Review 10/3
Well I do not even need to comment on iCarly. Just when you think it can not get any better it does.
True Jackson, VP was very well written. As a history teacher I loved the subplot.
Now for The Troop. First of all, I don't get it. It is being advertised as the new episodes airing on Fridays but they are airing Saturday's. Well whatever. Here is my verdict on the show. The cast is good but the premise and the writing are too unoriginal. As I have said before, it is a cross between Ned's Declassified and a mimic of Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters should be left alone. it is comparable to when the WWF/WWE was comparing The Big Show to Andre the Giant. This is the last time I am reviewing the troop because I see no need to watch it again. it was a waist of 30 minutes.

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 9/26
Well in scanning the TV guide this afternoon, I fount that Degrassi Goes Hollywood was on during the two hours preceding iCarly. Any masterpiece as good as that movie deserves to be watched every time it is on. So I watched it.
iCarly was a huge, huge improvement from last week. The ending keeps the speculation alive. Who will Freddie end up with? Right now I predict Carly, but there may be some competition with Sam.
True Jackson, VP, which is usually bad, was good this week for one obvious reason and one obvious reason only: Victoria Justice. That girl can do no wrong. Her appearances were few and far between but it was enough to actually make the show the best episode of the series.
No complaints about this week!

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 9/19
Before I get started with my actual review I have a related story. About an hour before iCarly started I was in Walgreen's--that place where we get what we need for the real world--and I saw a special edition of people magazine on iCarly. I have not had the chance to read it yet but I had to have it. When I saw it I got into my autograph state of mind. A few years ago I was in Walgreen's when I saw a Cosmopolitan magazine with Carrie Underwood on the cover. I did not care to but it but a few nights later I had a dream. I was in Nashville for Fan Fair and I saw a stand selling copies of that Cosmo. I decided to buy one and try to get Carrie to autograph it. But then they charged me about $80 for it and I decided it was not worth it. That dream got me to but the magazine. I got it a Walgreen's for less than $5. A few weeks later I went to Fan Fair and took the magazine with me. Sure enough, I was in the right place at the right time when Carrie was signing. Here is a link to my picture with her signing it. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r288/RJMamula/?action=view¤t=carrieunderwood.jpg Also, 8 years ago I just had to have Martina McBride's Greatest Hits CD. I got it but the only thing missing is her autograph on it. I have been trying for 8 years to meet Martina but to no avail. I have met countless celebrities, mostly country singers, during those 8 years, but no Martina. You can see my pics with these other celebs when you view my carie underwood pic. During another time when I was at Fan Fair, I found and purchased a picture or Terri Clark and Martina McBride--my tow favorite country singers--together on the Opry. I hoped to get it signed by both Terri and Martina. Well it now had Terri's signature--in fact, I have met Terri 8 times, I own every Terri Clark album ever made and every one is autographed--but it still lacks Martina's signature. That all said, I hope to get the opportunity to meet some of my favorite Nick stars like Victoria, Erin, Miranda and Jennette. If I can meet the cast of iCarly, that magazine will be signed by them.
Now to my review. This was the worst iCarly ever. Both the main and subplots of iCarly were stupid. Up until now, the episodes have ranged from okay to classic, but I did not think they were capable of doing a bad one. But maybe it is just a bad one so lets give it the benefit of the doubt that the show is not going down hill.
Also, after last weeks episode, I thought Sedie was a lost cause and that Freddie would end up with Carly. But when Freddie made the comment at the beginning that his hatred of Sam was just getting stronger, that change my mind. The dilemma is that regardless of which one Freddie ends up with, they will need to find someone for the other girl. But they have plenty of time to figure that out.
Now to True Jackson, VP. Horrible as always. The only good thing about this one was the hamster. Those cute creatures make the best pets--better than my mom's annoying dog that I have to out up with. I was hoping that "Testing True" would be the end of the series. After all the show has already served its purpose of promoting Keke Palmer. It turns out that they have a whole second season already filmed. I guess the ratings for this show are doing well. In all fairness, I think Ashley Argotta will and should someday get her own show. I just wish they would end this show, bring back the mermaids, and get started with Victorious.
And what is with this new show The Troop? I thought it was going to be a Friday show but now it looks like it will be on Saturdays, back to back with iCarly and True Jackson, VP. Not that I will be watching it anyway but I wonder what time slot they will put Victorious in. My understanding is that Zoey 101 aired on Sunday's when it was in production, but I did not discover it until it was all reruns.
Well I think I have said enough for now.

iCarly/Troop Review 9/12
Well I think "iFight Shelby Marx" needed to be topped because it was great but did not live up to its hype. I think "iThink the Kissed" did just that. It was hilarious. I now think this officially derails Seddie , so now Freddie and Carly is where the show is the destiny of the show.
Then I watched "The Troop." I wonder if this show was influenced by Ghostbusters, the only difference is thhey are busting monsters instead of ghost. At first I thought Ghostbusters needs to be left alone. Then I thought "well okay but you can not match Ghostbusters. The show seems to be a cross between Ghostbusters and "Ned's Declassifed School Survival Guide." At any rate it will be on Friday's when I am usually not home and I do not think it is work taping.

Degrassi Goes Hollywood
Well I was actually very pleased with Degrassi Goes Hollywood. The hype was not all for nothing. It was a very good movie. The first half hour was kind of boring and I was thinking "it better get better." But it did. The story started developing and getting very interesting. Well I do not need to say why it is good, it speaks for itself. I stayed up late watching it taped because I was out, and as of this writing it is almost 11:30 CDT so I better get to sleep.

Thoughts on Degrassi Goes Hollywood
Last summer I watched Degrassi: The Next Generation a few times and never really got into it. So I did not initially plan to watch Degrassi Goes Hollywood. However, the commercials have been shoved down my throat so many times that I eventually decided I am watching it. For the past couple of weeks I have been watching the Degrassi reruns to brush up so I can kind of have some idea what is going on when I watch the movie.
Well today they are advertising "tomorrow the wait is finally over." Well this is not the movie I have been waiting months for. iFight Shelby Marx was the movie I waited months for and that has been over and done with for five days. Yet they have been pushing Degrassi Goes Hollywood longer and more aggressively than they ever pushed iFight Shelby Marx. Is the former suppose to be bigger than the the latter? Is the latter merely a warm up for the former, just as all those great episodes leading up to iFight Shelby Marx were great warm ups for it? That makes no sense given that Degrassi only airs on The N and not the parent channel. Yes I know they are two completely different genres of show, but they have the same fan base I would venture to say. The movies were advertised on each other's shows and they are both teenage shows. Bottom line, why are they airing the Degrassi movie less than a week after the iCarly movie and giving it more hype.
Despite this lack of logic, I am feeling optimistic about the movie. I do not expect it to be awesome, but in watching the reruns I am starting to become a fan of Cassie Steele. She is very talented in both acting and singing. She delivers "Life is a Show" very well. Anyway, I will be taping the show as I am always out on Friday nights. So I will watch it either late Friday night or early Saturday. There is also a remote I will be headed out of town on Saturday, and if that is the case I will take the tape with me and watch it at my grandparents place.

iFight Shelby Marx Review
Well "iFight Shelby Marx" was the best episode ever, but to be honest it was not as good as it was it was hyped up to be. Miranda and Victoria made a deadly combination, along with Jennette and everyone else. And Wendy was included in this one, which never goes unnoticed by me. The subplot with Spencer's allergy problem was okay but unnecessary. Instead of it, they could have added more substance to the main plot to make it even better. But all in all it was awesome.
I was wondering if they would advertise Victoria's new show during the movie, but I know that it is not planed to start until 2010. But they did advertise a new game show. I am not aware of any game shows currently airing on Nickelodeon or that have aired on Nickelodeon in the past few years, but I have memories of some good game shows they had back in the 90s like "Nick Arcade" and "Legends of the Hidden Temple."
So where do we go from here? Was this the peak of iCarly or is it only going to get better? I look forward to Victoria's new show (if the Lord tarries), and I expect to like it better than iCarly because it's Victoria. I am a bigger fan of her than Miranda, despite being a very big Miranda fan. As I said in my Testing True review, I think True Jackson, VP will soon be sandwiched between iCarly and Victoria's new show. But Nick must think that the show has a future because they have come out with a real life Mad Style line of clothes based on the show. I think they should follow suit with iCarly and Zoey 101. How about coming out with real life Blix drinks. Or--not a serious--start a real Pacific Coast Academy. I am a teacher and I could take a job there.
Well between now and the premier of Victoria's show, we have more iCarly episodes to enjoy.

Testing True Review
Well I can really brag about "Testing True" despite not liking True Jackson, VP. It was very well executed. There were four subplots that I can count yet none of the plots lacked substance or amusement. Ryan has good taste with Kelsey. And what is with all the twin plots lately. I would accuse them of stealing from iCarly except I know they must have finished making Testing True before "iTwins" was released.
The question we must now is "what does the future hold for this show. Someone has pointed out how this show makes little sense and is merely intended to be a means by which Keke Palmer can showcase her acting talent. Although I am not particularly a fan of her, I have to acknowledge that she has talent and a promising future regardless of the future of this show. My guess is that the show will soon be sandwiched between iCarly and Victoria Justice's new show.
Speaking of Victoria Justice and iCarly, it is just two more weeks until the long awaited and anticipated Miranda/Victoria fight and with the way they are hyping it up it is looking good. I already know it will be the best iCarly episode ever and it will be a classic for the ages.

iCarly Cereal
I was grocery shopping a few hours ago, when what should I discover but Hannah
Montana Cereal. And two boxes to the right of it was High School Musical Cereal.
I did not pick up either one, because I am not a fan of either. But it possessed
me to look carefully to see if there was any such thing as iCarly Cereal. There
was none, so I resorted to buying my usual cereal--Cheerios. But if there is
Hannah Montana Cereal and High School Musical Cereal, why shouldn't there be
iCarly Cereal? Now if I am going to suggest an iCarly cereal, then I'd better
suggest a flavor for it. The Hannah Montana and High School Musical cereals were
fruity, so why not make the iCarly cereal chocolate with marshmallows? After
all, I am a chocoholic, and I think that is the kind of cereal Sam Puckett would
eat.

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 7/11
Sorry my review is late, but I was having some internet issues.
iCarly was awesome, and it was probably the best episode yet. Both the main and
subplots were hilarious. It was good seeing Chuck get his payback. And the main
plot was yet another twist toward Seddie. I wonder why Dan decided not to have
Freddie find out that Sam and Melony were two separate people, but it was good
nevertheless.
As usual, I did not care for True Jackson, but I noticed something for the first
time while watching the opening credits: why is Danielle Bissutti the only adult
actor credited with the main cast?

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 6/27
Well it is nice to know we finally have a date--or at least a month-- for "iFight Shelby Marx." And hopefully Victoria's new show will shortly follow.
iCarly went from modest to hilarious as the episode progressed. Both plots were very great. I knew a soon as Spenser crashed the art class that that he would cavort with the teacher. One thing I had to ask myself: doesn't Ridgeway offer art classes? Also, I have to wonder if Sam's mother will ever make an appearance.
I actually thought about foregoing True Jackson, VP since I do not like the show. After the opening scene I thought "what the heck." Well it was still stupid. They decided to create a character who was Quinn Pensky on steroids. And the repeated injury to the accountant and the kid acting up in the hospital was not funny.
The new movie "Testing True" should be interesting though.
As for the most addicting video game, I really can not comment as I am not familiar with those games. However, I have played some of the games on the Nick websites and I will comment on them. The Zoey 101 games are fun to a degree. H2O is a great show but the games of that show make no sense. But the worst game I have played is the Pizza game based on "That 70s Show" The knob that I am suppose to find in that game is nowhere to be found.
So now it is 1-2 months before "iFight Shelby Marx." Well it will be wort the wait.

Thoughts on tonights line-up
Tonight Nickelodeon features new episodes of iCarly and True Jackson, VP. We know from the advertisements that Sam and Freddie will be sharing a locker (we know where all this is going) and Carly will be taking art lessons from Spencer (that should be interesting). Following Tue Jackson is an iCarly rerun. Why can't they air the next H2O instead? I understand the show is not having the popularity in the U.S. that it has been having in Australia, but that would be all the more reason to show it. I mean if it is not popular enough to compete with something on the Disney Channel then there is no "right time" to put it off until. I do not know what is going on at the Disney Channel but if they are just showing reruns in that slot then now is the ideal time to show the rest of H2O season 2. If worst comes to shove, Nickelodeon can cancel season 3. Many, like me, have low expectations for season 3 due to the cast shake-up anyway. If they do not resume airing new episodes before long, it will never happen, and that would be a let down.

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review/Nakked Brothers Review 6/13
iCarly was great. It was intense, it was funny, it was well written. But it is just another warm-up for the much anticipated "iFight Shelby Marx," which they will air in their own good time. This was the third consecutive episode to feature Wendy. "After her brief appearance in "iDate a Bad Boy," I saw the potential for her to be used as a regular. Apparently Dan thinks the same way. Miranda, Jennette and Nathan are all growing as actors and getting better and better.
I do not usually like True Jackson, VP but tonight was an exception. The show was hilarious from start to finish. How can people be so stupid as to think that mannequin for the real person, especially when his mouth is not moving. And with my Serbian heritage, I was flattered by the reference to the Serbian factory early in the show.
Nakked Brothers band was totally stupid, as always. I do not need to explain why. It speaks for itself. And this time there was no Victoria to provide 15 seconds of relief.
But as the Meatloaf song goes, "two out of three ain't bad." I would rather have been at Fan Fair in Nashville, but since I can not be there this year, tonight line-up was a good consolation.

iFight Shelby Marx in hold.
I need to say that this was initially the the date that the new iCarly movie "iFight Shelby Marx," guest staring Victoria Justice. It has evidently been postponed indefinitely. I expect it to be the best iCarly episode every, as Miranda Cosgrove and Victoria Justice make a deadly combination. They are probably waiting for the Disney channel to air something major so that they can put it up against it and beat it in the ratings. Lately iCarly has been really beating the Jonas brother in the ratings so maybe it is a good idea.

Comment on Movie Mania
Well the N just had an event called Movie Mania, which featured a movie every night of the month. It was a nice idea. They gave a disproportionate number of night to the Zoey movies, but who can complain about that. Since, last year, there has been no better way to enjoy my Memorial Day weekends than watching Zoey 101 reruns. It was also great for them to have aired Spectacular! several times. I can watch that movie over and over again. I also watched some movies that I had never seen before, such as some of the Unfabulous movies. So in general, I enjoyed Movie Mania.

The Best Years/iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 5/16
Well I did not realize it was The Best Years Finale until I programed my VCR to tape it while I was out giving a sermon. It was pretty good. The writing was not bad (except for the global warming nonsense), it was just not interesting. Charity Shea is the only reason the show is any good and while I enjoy watching her I am relieved that this show is over for a while.
iCarly was great. Haley Ram did a good job playing Missy. And I was glad and surprised to see the character Wendy return from the last episode. As I said in my previous review, I somehow think she has the potential to be used more. And then when it was revealed to Carly what Freddie did for Sam, I thought for a second that Carly might come to like him. Then I started to think it was another harbinger of Seddie but no need to rush that. I wonder how Spencer eventually got out of the cage. All in all, "iDate a Bad Boy" and "iReunite with Missy" have been excellent warmups for "iFight Shelby Marx." Fasten your seat belts folks! We are in for the best episode ever!
True Jackson was actually good this time for one simple reason: Jennette McCurdy. They brought in somebody I am a fan of to take the spotlight off Keke Palmer.
Also, Jennete and Ashley did a great job hosting the shows.

The Best Years/iCarly Review 5/9
I do not know how many of you watch "The Best Years," but I will review it since it airs on The N.
This show actually managed to completely fly under my radar its whole first season while I was watching all these other shows on The N. I initially had low expectations for this show because of an association with "Degrassi." Both are Canadian shows of the same genre. Last summer I watched some Degrassi and tried to get myself to like it but I could not. I just did not like the liberal nature of the show. The only reason I actually decided to give "The Best Years" a shot is that Charity Shea is hot. Well the show is not half as bad as Degrassi.
Now for the episode. How can you be stupid enough to staple a condom through the middle? Not to mention if a condom were stapled through the middle I would certainly notice it while unwrapping it.
Now to iCarly. I certainly agree with the critics who say that season 2 is superior to season 1. Prior to watching "iDate a Bad Boy," I read a message from Dan Schnieder that it was probably one of the best episodes. Well it was THE best episode so far. It was only 15 minutes into the movie when I realized it was going to be. But surely it will be surpassed by "iFight Shelby Marx." (more on that later).
It had its intense moments and gave me many good laughs. I like how they had two separate subplots for the two half of the movie. It was very interesting to see Sam hanging out alone with Spencer a lot. The character Wendy--Carly's study partner--actually seemed to have interesting potential for some reason. I was hoping she would have a bigger role but she never appeared again after that scene.
Well I am having mermaid withdrawl. When it the next H2O?

iCarly/True Jackson, VP Review 4/22
Well I wish Nickelodeon would live up to their motto "go green without going nuts." In my opinion, they are going nuts. However, I went the extra mile and powered down for way more than 60 seconds. I watched all of iCarly and True Jackson in the dark.
iCarly is always good but some episodes are better than others. "iGo Green" was not as good as the last episode but it was good none the less. I thought it was cool how Sam got an A. Then there was the eco-friendly machine that Carly made for her project. I suspected that it would be confiscated by the government as unsafe or something. When I saw the police, I figured there was one of two possibilities: either the guy would be arrested as a scam artist or the show was promoting government energy conspiracy theory.
Now for True Jackson, VP. I do not like that show and since I have said that every time it is redundant. So You can always assume that I did not care for the episode unless they say otherwise.
An older looking college student really is not uncommon anymore. These days, there are 40 year olds going to college, either for career changes and other reasons. When I was in college, half my classmates were twice my age. But the way they blew it was having her act all peppy and mentioning that she lived in a dorm. But of course, this show makes no sense anyway.
I am not sure what the intended message of Al Gore getting takled was. My hope is that it was intended to be a way of making fun of him like Dan did in Zoey 101. It is April 22 and I am still wearing my heavy Jacket. Who still believes in global warming?
But to all who did power down: thank you. I hope this will have an impact.
