Last summer I watched Degrassi: The Next Generation a few times and never really got into it. So I did not initially plan to watch Degrassi Goes Hollywood. However, the commercials have been shoved down my throat so many times that I eventually decided I am watching it. For the past couple of weeks I have been watching the Degrassi reruns to brush up so I can kind of have some idea what is going on when I watch the movie.
Well today they are advertising "tomorrow the wait is finally over." Well this is not the movie I have been waiting months for. iFight Shelby Marx was the movie I waited months for and that has been over and done with for five days. Yet they have been pushing Degrassi Goes Hollywood longer and more aggressively than they ever pushed iFight Shelby Marx. Is the former suppose to be bigger than the the latter? Is the latter merely a warm up for the former, just as all those great episodes leading up to iFight Shelby Marx were great warm ups for it? That makes no sense given that Degrassi only airs on The N and not the parent channel. Yes I know they are two completely different genres of show, but they have the same fan base I would venture to say. The movies were advertised on each other's shows and they are both teenage shows. Bottom line, why are they airing the Degrassi movie less than a week after the iCarly movie and giving it more hype.
Despite this lack of logic, I am feeling optimistic about the movie. I do not expect it to be awesome, but in watching the reruns I am starting to become a fan of Cassie Steele. She is very talented in both acting and singing. She delivers "Life is a Show" very well. Anyway, I will be taping the show as I am always out on Friday nights. So I will watch it either late Friday night or early Saturday. There is also a remote I will be headed out of town on Saturday, and if that is the case I will take the tape with me and watch it at my grandparents place.
